Almost finshed

Almost a week of visitors = not much time for scrapping. My craftroom is also the guest bedroom, so I can´t exactly sit down there when we have guests sleeping there, and it wouldn´t be very polite sitting down scrapping eather, would it? But now only Miss S is here and even though she sleeps in the guestroom, she´s family so thats all right.

So yesterday and today I have made four more pages for my christmas journal and here they are.

Christmas day. It´s about the guests we had that day and the two small oldfashioned ads actually tells something about the gift we got and what we served.

Two days at one about the visit by our relatives-to-be, Miss S´s future husband and in-law family. Two days full of talking and being together.

This is about guests coming and going, since our earlier guests went home this day and Master J´s girlfriend came. It was the first time we met her so that was exiting for us and her.

This page is about two sounds that make me happy which can be heared around here quite often right now, both from christmas presents. the first is Master E´s Wii Lego Harry Potter, in which the Harry Potter theme song is playing, and it makes me happy because it make me think about how very good the films are.

The second is Miss E´s second hand Nintendo 64 with a Mario game and the theme music reminds me of the "old days" when the older children were younger and this was a sound that was often heared in our house and it makes me happy thinking about those days.

Two more days and then I will be done with my journal,. hopefully they will be done by tomorrow and then I will move on to other projects. I feel quite done with both christmas itself and the journal by now.

Have a good new years eve and a happy new year to you!

Christmas pages

Good morning! Just a short stop to post my latest pages. I´m not sure how much longer I will keep up my christmas journal, I will have to see how much I feel like. But here comes at least my pages for December 23rd and 24th.

In the very south of Sweden, were I originally come from, you call the day before christmas eve Little Christmas Eve, and that´s what it says on the embroided piece in the middle. Otherwise it´s about having everythig ready for christmas.

This is the front of my Christmas Eve page. At the top with the small decorationpage over my jounaling and under with the page flipped open. The red heart is of metallic and I found it in a home decoration shop. It has a hole so you can hang it up, but I put a brad there to match the white in the paper under the overlay which it is fastend to. The green paper is from a swedish company with swedish text "God Jul" (Merry Christmas) and "24.12" , which is how we write dates, with the day first. "Julafton" means Christmas Eve.

This is the back . It´s about the fact that the Donald Duck Christmas show at TV had it´s 50th anneversery this year. Donald Duck is called Kalle Anka in Sweden. Well, thats as far as I´ve made them. We´ll see if there will be any more or else I will show you a lot of other of my stuff! Have a nice day, I sure will, since my sweet Miss S is coming  home and bring all her future family too.

Merry Christmas again!

Merry Christmas to all of you for whom christmas is today, I hope you will have a wonderful day. We had a lovely Christmas yesterday, everyone was pleased with their presents, which is nice. Later today we will have some guests.

Here´s a few more of my Chrismas Journal pages.

They had an all-day christmas crafting day at school on Monday and I was there helping out. They put the parents in the same groups as their children, so I got to spend the whole time with these two lovely children. Since Master E is just 6 yrs old he needed quite a bit of help, so most of my time was spent helping him. That was nice. Here they show off all their stuff. Miss I is a big crafter, which is fun. She made Mr A and me a manger with baby Jesus for Christmas, so sweet.

This is a very un-christmases page about the winter solstice. This was the longest night of the year and now the days keep getting a little longer. I really think that is worth celebrating, it gives you hope of spring.

Last day of school. Finally christmas break!

We got a fun surprise yesterday whem Mr A saw two Santas walking on the road outside our house (here´s just ours and another house right here) and he said "Get the camera!" so I ran upstairs to get it and while I was on my way down the stairs there was a knock on the door but when I opened two seconds later there where just a big bag on the stairs and the two Santas was running down the road. So we got some extra presents and a mystery to think about.

Merry Christmas!

Meery Christmas to all of you! Today is the big day here in Sweden, it´s today that´s christmas to us. We always celebrate the evening before the Day, for some reason. I don´t know why, but I have a theory that it might be because the Day was holy so one celebraited the night before and then it went from being something just in the evening to being the whole day.

Master J is home, which is very nice. Mrs L and her family is at their own home and Miss S, who recently got engaged is celebrating with her fiance´, Mr T and his family, they are all coming here on the 26th. Mr A and I have known the parents for many years so we know she will get great in-laws. We are were happy for them.

I have actually managed to caught up with my Christmas Journal and here are some pages.

This is about that I like christmas movies. Well at least some. I really love a happy ending so sentamental to a degree is just fine with me. I´m not as much overjoyed with the christmas episodes in all the tv-series though.

This is showing our christmas letter to our family and friends.

We have a lot of snow and have had snow since early in november and it´s really cold outside so this is about that it would probebly be a white christmas.

Plans for the christmas days, who´s coming when.

Well it´s almost 3 pm when it´s time for the annual christmas show on tv from Disney, Donald Duck wishes you a merry christmas. So this is all for now. Have a nice day!!

December 12,13,14 and 15

Some days are just so full that you just don´t have the time or energy to scrapbook or post on the blog, and when you do the internet is not working, how fun is that? Well, anyway, I now have a lot of pages to show you and start with four today (I have two more but I´ll save them). Here we go!

This is for sunday. It´s about the special program the children had at church and my feelings about it, how very important the work we do, trying to build their faith in Heavenly Father and our Savior, are and how very fine they all did it.

This is for the Lucia day which is celebrated here in Sweden on the 13th. In the evening the 6-10 yrs olds at school had this Lucia celebration for their families and our little Master E was the sweetest little starboy ever seen, I still have to have a photo on this one. I really love the look at this page.

These two is about food, cookies and sweets for christmas, nothing that special.

You can tell that christmas is getting near, more and more to do. But I hope that I will be able to be better at blogging the coming week, which I hope will be fine for all of you.

Christmas decorations

lGood morning! Come follow me around the house to see some of my decorations!

Club moss (lummer, in swedish) simply arranged on the cabinet and around the clock is so lovely I think.

A couple of pine sprays beneath the old horse bells is all that is needed to make a lovely sight.

This is our family as "tomtar" (gnomes). Doesn´t we look lovely?! The white tomte is our sweet Miss Angel V of course. I first bought them when we just had our five oldest children but luckily I managed to find the same kind of tomtar for the other three children as well, at different times and in different thrift stores, so that we now have the whole family. These tomtar are very important to the younger children. They find a home at different locations every christmas. One year they were the only decorations we had in the christmas tree.

December 8,9 and 11

Finally a whole lot of pages. Both the 8th and the 9th got more than one page, since I had more I wanted to document. Here we go.

The first page for the 8th. I liked the paper so much I just didn´t want to cover it up, so all the christmas lists, which this page is about, landed on the backside.

I have left-to-do list, things-left-to-buy list and a list of all the food for christmas.

The 9th got a whole of three pages. Again I start with a paper that I didn´t want to cover to much so it only holds the date and title. The 9th is about the christmas tree, I called it Thoughts of a Christmas Tree.

I really liked this paper with the tree, it suited my theme so well, and I liked how I managed to get the date and title in without covering it up too much.

This page is very simple. I liked the back of the tree paper so much and with all that text there wasn´t much room for decorations. The text is about my thinkings of whether to keep taking our christmas trees from our back yard or not, since I want to let some of them grow really big to protect our yard from the cold north winds. But since the trees will eventully grow really big I will have to take away some of them to make the ones who will be left as beautiful as posslebly. So that will leave us with christmas trees for many more christmases. Nice. I like going out in my own garden and take down my own tree.

Here´s the last page of the 9th, with photos of our back yard, full of snow, and the photo of the tree when decorated by the children.

Yesterday we were at the annual christmas party at church and when we came home I was so fast making a page about it, on the back of the last 9th page that I forgot that I hadn´t made any page for the 10th... O, well, never mind. Here is the 11th anyway. I´ve made the christmas tree myself.

Well folks, thats it for now. Today is a big day for the children and all us, their leaders, at church, since we´re all gonna pull of a special program to show the whole congregation. I hope the children will be really pleased with themselves when it´s done. Have a good day!

More self made

I´m working on day 8, but want to show you another little thing I made.

"GOD JUL" is Merry Christmas in swedish. Quite handy having such short words for this kind of thing.
I hope I can finish days 8 and 9 today. And maybe even post them, we´ll see.

December 4, 5, 6 and 7

This weekend I was really tired but still had things to do and on monday I went with friends to Swedens low price Mecca, which took almost the whole day, and in the evening I made gingerbread cookies with the children, so no pages was made these days. Yesterday I made two pages and intended to post here but the internet wasn´t working so it came to nothing. This morning I made two more pages so now Í´m caught up and here they come!

This one´s aboute my christmas spice no 1, saffron.

This one is about that I think that second after the christmas lights, flowers and greens are my favorite decorations for christmas.

This one´s about a day in december, that is this monday, when I went shopping with some friends and made gingerbread cookies in the evening with the children.

And yesterday when we, well mostly me, made tiny gingerbread houses for Miss I and Master E. Not so easy...

Have a nice day!

December 2 and 3

Here is my pages for yesterday and today. Yesterday´s is about what christmas is for me, it´s quite a long thing I wrote about that and it´s in the red envelop. Jesus wasn´t born on christmas day but in the spring so it´s about how I´m the kind of person who can´t really imagin just because of tradition, but find christmas still a very lovely tradition which I love. And I try to remember to celebrate the birth of Jesus in my heart all the time. So for me christmas is a wonderful time to enjoy with my family.

Today´s page is about a memory from my childhood. My father was a parttime firefighter and when we spent christmas eve at home (every second year) he always had to go put out a fire just before santa should come so he always missed him...

I found presents for my grandchildren yesterday and had a love time with my sisters in the evening. See you.

02 December 2010

Hand made decoration

I will be gone christmas shopping all afternoon and tonight I will see all my sisters from church for a little celebration, so I don´t think there will be any time for making a page for the Christmas album tonight.
Insteed I will show you a christmas decoration I´ve made.

The text says: "Dear Santa, we only have good children here" so he´ll know that the children is allowed their presents. Might need a little explanation. Here in Sweden Santa do not come during the night and leave the presents, at least not in the majority of homes, but he comes in the late afternoon or evening and handles out
the presents himself and the standing question he askes is "Is here any good children?"so everyone here  understands the meaning of my statment perfectly.

Buying christmas presents

Today started Journal your Christmas, but since I had already started I had made a missionstatment already, so instead I made a page about buying christmas presents. My text says that it´s fun buying them when you know what will make the reciever happy, but can be quite stressful when you have no clue.

The picture shows my dear Master E giving just the reaction you wished you could always get.
