Haunted

You could believe that I´m to talk about halloween, but I´m even further on. Christmas seems to pop up in my life all the time, can´t keep it away from me! I just can´t keep my thoughts from working with the problem of what to use as my Christmas album this year. And the problem is not to be able to find something, the problem is that I have to choose just one... In the middle of the summer...what can I say?!

And looking through my photo pile, I did, of course, find all the photos from last Christmas which hadn´t been scrapbooked yet, so I had to do that, what else could I do, they were just laying there begging me to be done...

So here´s my first pages, I´m still working on two smaller pages.

Not one single Christmasee emellishment, but I think the photos has enough Christmas in themselves, and as there is so many photos to get on the pages I prefered using neutral accents. Got to use some really old journaling tags that I really haven´t had a clue what to do with, so that´s great. There have been bought some things that I later really couldn´t figur out why I bought them... I´m quite sure I´m not alone doing just that!

It´s beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I know we´re only halfway to Christmas, but for me it´s a little Christmas right now. I run in to a 50% off sale yesterday, with 75% off on all the Christmas stuff and how could I resist?! So I brought home these lovely tines.

They will for sure brighten our home in let´s say five months or so.

There´s another thing that´s Christmases to me right now. I saw the other day a picure on Pinterest with a wooden letter representing the family name, made into an ornament and that was such a good idee. I will make a lot of ornaments, with one letter representing each person in our family, our parents, our selves, our children, our sons-in-law and our grandchildren, in all 22 persons. I bought letters yesterday, but they were short of the L and two Es so they will come later.

I will paint the eges and then decorate them with patterned paper and whatever else I will find nice. I guess I´d better start soon if I want them finished by this Christmas!

Dec 12th and 13th

Two pages from the beginning of the week.

This is our Christmas letter. I actually printed and sent it out on the 13th, but, as you will see, there where only so much I could sqeez in on that day, so I gave it the day before, it really doesn´t matter.

I stapled a strip of transparency to tuck the letter behind so as much as possibly could be seen of it.

My oldest daughter´s due dath was on the 10th but the little man arrived on the 13th, the Lucia day here in Sweden. So he got place #1 for the day, of course, and on the backside is the Lucia celebrations that the children had at their schools.

Today is gonna be a baking day, I´ve promised the children homemade hamburgers for dinner, so I will make bread for that and I will also make some bread for Christmas and also some cookies. And I have to vacum the house, so busy, busy!!

Dec 7th and 8th

Two days about the Christmas tree. The first one is about me going into our backyard sawing down the tree and how much I like the possibility to be able to do this. I had the oppertunaty to use my new tree stamp and so enjoyed it. I tried to get one last year but didn´t succed but now I have one and I´m so glad.

Yeasterday we put up the tree and decorated some more. I wanted the two pages to feel like a unit so I used the same journaling spots and numbers and white backgrounds.

 

Not a single photo, as seems to be the case with most days in this album, but I wanted the tree stamp to dominate on the 7th and I just "had" to have the beautyful picture of the tree on the 8th. If you want to see some actual photos scroll down!

Ready for Advent

I´ve just fixed the advent candles for tomorrow and this year it looks like this. Miss E just told me it looks nice, so that feel good.

These number plates I bought two years ago, after Christmas and last year when I should use them I couldn´t find them... And last December I bought a new Advent candleholder, for thin candles, which was so very nice and guess what, this year I can´t find that one...
Well, it´s the story of my life! But now I can enjoy these plates and hopefully during the next year I will find the candleholder so I can enjoy that next Advent. Life (and my own weaknesses) have tought me patience and that there will always be another time, and if there shouldn´t, well, I´ll survive anyway.

I do wish you all a most lovely Advent time and hope you will enjoy it and not kill yourselves by overdoing.

A little book of lists

I don´t think I´ve ever made two post the same day here at the blog, but I just had to show you a small booklet I just made to have as a home for my to-do-lists at Christmas time. I will use it for my lists while I´m working on them and after Christmas they will have a new home in my album and I can use this book for new lists next year.

I used some old chipboard  flowers/stars to embellish the outside. I´ve hade them for years and never found a home for them, until now.

 

On the left is my list for the Christmas presents where I can tick off when I´m ready with the present/s for specific persons and on the right my list for other things I should buy.

These pages is both kitchen related. The left one is for the list of all the kinds of foods we want to have on our table at Christmas and on the right it´s all about yummi things like cookies and sweets we want to make.

Christmas decorations

lGood morning! Come follow me around the house to see some of my decorations!

Club moss (lummer, in swedish) simply arranged on the cabinet and around the clock is so lovely I think.

A couple of pine sprays beneath the old horse bells is all that is needed to make a lovely sight.

This is our family as "tomtar" (gnomes). Doesn´t we look lovely?! The white tomte is our sweet Miss Angel V of course. I first bought them when we just had our five oldest children but luckily I managed to find the same kind of tomtar for the other three children as well, at different times and in different thrift stores, so that we now have the whole family. These tomtar are very important to the younger children. They find a home at different locations every christmas. One year they were the only decorations we had in the christmas tree.

More self made

I´m working on day 8, but want to show you another little thing I made.

"GOD JUL" is Merry Christmas in swedish. Quite handy having such short words for this kind of thing.

I hope I can finish days 8 and 9 today. And maybe even post them, we´ll see.

Hand made decoration

I will be gone christmas shopping all afternoon and tonight I will see all my sisters from church for a little celebration, so I don´t think there will be any time for making a page for the Christmas album tonight.
Insteed I will show you a christmas decoration I´ve made.

The text says: "Dear Santa, we only have good children here" so he´ll know that the children is allowed their presents. Might need a little explanation. Here in Sweden Santa do not come during the night and leave the presents, at least not in the majority of homes, but he comes in the late afternoon or evening and handles out

the presents himself and the standing question he askes is "Is here any good children?"so everyone here  understands the meaning of my statment perfectly.
