Bragbook finished

My bragbook is finished! Well, all but a photo of Mr T, but I don´t have one at the moment. I´m very pleased with it indeed. Here it is.

Since I had more pages than persons I put in some photos of our home and the garden too. And the last page is an old rhyme that you say when you´ve finished a story, saying just that, that the story is ended, but I changed "story" to "braging"!

Spring actually seems to be coming! And that is truely wonderful. Have a good day!

Remembering

When Mrs S started studying away from her hometown a year ago we took care of her cat. This is the layout I made about the cat then.

Three days ago our naboure came and told us our sweet little cat had been killed by a car. That was very sad, I didn´t know I would miss him so much. I made this remembering page about him, with memories of some sweet things he used to do.

Going back to the good film I´m watching, Return with honor, and let Miss E get the computer again... Have a nice Sunday!

Travelling project

Mr A and I went to the temple in Stockholm Thursday to Saturday and I brought my bragbook and some things from October Afternoon, Crate, Sassafrass and Studio Calico to be able to be a little creative on the way. It´s not ready, but a few pages is on their way and I have a quite clear view of how I want all of the pages to look.

Here´s a few pictures of it so far.

This is obviousely the title page. It makes me so happy when every now and then you just have the thing that is perfect for a sertain project that you had no idee you would do when you bought the thing. This is such an occation, I really love this tag here.

The left side is for Mr A, the lightbulb is perfect because he always has a lot of idees. On the right it will be about him and me.

This is for Mrs S and her family. The idee is to have her on the left and her family on the right, including the family name. and I will do the same with Mrs L, but I´m not really sure about those pages yet.

This is for Miss angel V and Miss E. Like the others I´ve done so far they are not yet complete, and I don´t mean the photos that is missing. That´s as far as i´ve done so far, this is a really fun project!

Have a nice Sunday and a good new week!

Just another layout

I´m quite down...because it´s been snowing for days... The snow had began to melt away so in places you could see more and more of the ground each day, and then it began to snow... Talk about backlash! Oh, well.

I have a LO to show you, that´s nice. It really isn´t just another layout, I´m quite fond of it.

Here I talk about my watch that I got for my birthday last year. When I have had babies I´ve always taken off my wrist watch, so it wouldn´t hurt the baby and the baby wouldn´t "do" anything on it... But after Master E had become bigger and I should start wearing it again I just couldn´t get used to having it on my arm. So I never wore it, just had it in my pocket or in my puse.

After Mrs S took her nursing exam and got a nurse watch from us, I started thinking that I´d like a watch hanging in a chain around my neck and I got it last year and I´m so very pleased with it.

Do you see that I used my new alphabet on this page? Very nice! I don´t remember where I got the "W" and I´ve wondered were I would ever get to use it since we hardly ever use a "W" in swedish. But here I thought it were just right even if it is for the english word. Isn´t type writers lovely?! I´m glad that they still exist, even if it is only on a sticker...

Have to go and finsh off my preps for tomorrows class with the children at church. Have a lovely Sunday!

Scrapping quilting

I showed you the very first quilt I started making, some time ago and later I thought: "Why didn´t I show the layout I made about it?" How ironic isn´t it when a scrapbooker forgets the layout she made about the subject that she´s talking about?!

So today I will show it to you!

This blue 6"x12" album is my crafting scrapbook. I have two sections in it, one for paper craft and one for sewing, which really means my quilts. The main thing here is to show off my quilts so I don´t want to much to destracts from the photos, just a little something that emphasize the quilt and tells a little about it.

Miss E is having her 14th bithday Sunday I asked her to write a wish list and you know what? It´s really hard to buy things for a teenager. When she says "nice jewellery", how do I know what is nice to her? If she´s anything like me, and I think she is, she´s very particular and combine that with being very different from me in taste...Help! The thing is she doesn´t want just money, which would be so much easier for me, she thinks it´s dull to just get money and I just have to love her for that, so many teenagers just want money. So this is something I have to figur out, and fast, since I´m going to town today. Keep your fingers crossed for me, will you!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Looking back

They said it shouldn´t be any sun today, but they were wrong and I´m so glad! Mrs S just wrote in our family blog that Mr T found snowdrops growing near their home the other day - I am so envious! We have snow and snow and even more snow. But I guess I shouldn´t complain, when the tempature goes above fizing and the sun is shining it is melting and I´m sure Mrs L thinks I´m wining for nothing since they have much more snow than we do. Spring is bound to come sometime.

Today all the children are well enough to go to school and when they had left I sat down at my scrap table and made a new layout and I was quite pleased with it too. My intension was to use my new alphabet stamps, but you know how it sometimes are, it kinds of envolves in another direction. Here it is.

I´m philosophizing about the 50 years I´ve lived here on earth and how glad I am that this life isn´t the real life.

I do hope your week will be a fabules one!

Treasures

My birthday present (or rather presents) came yesterday! Yeah!! I got this

beautiful alphabet and also three sheets of journaling labels, which I got for about half a dollar each. Great deal. Then of cause I had to pay the shipping here which dubbled the price for the whole buy, but that´s the way it is.

I did however make some good deals today. After the breakfast meeting with the sisters at church we stopped at a second hand shop which is open every Saturday and sells all kinds of stuff. Today they happened to have a 75% sale on all clothing. We got there kind of late so there were not much left by then, but I got some sweaters for Master E and then I found a womans top which I wanted to buy for the sake of the lovely checked fabric. It will look lovely in a quilt sometime. But when I looked a little closer I found this little thing sown to it.

Isn´t it just adorable?! A little cup with a "1" on it. A real treasure for a scrapbooker. And all that for less than a dollar. I was so pleased!

Well that´s all for this lucky woman today. I will soon go to bed because I´m real tired. Have a beautyful Sunday.

Year in review

There´s a big, thick claud all over the place here, not a single sunbeam in sight. But, it´s Friday and that´s a nice thing and there will be skiing on TV later today! It´s the World Championships and the swedish ladies won a silvermedal in the relay yesterday, so we are very happy about that.

I´ve finally made the 2010 Year in review pages and I will show them to you together with the erlier years I´ve made.

This is the title page, called Folow us year by year. The pageprotecter is shining a bit, but I wanted to take the pictures with pages in the album so you can see the year tags.

Up until 2008 I hade worked with a bound album and pritty much gotten everything in cronological order in it, but when that one was finished I started using an album with pageprotecters and not working cronologically so I wanted to sum up every year in a special album, highlightening the magor events. It is actually great fun too.

This year I just put some photos there, listed the events and attached some embellishments. Very simple.

This year I was into stamping my own journaling labels, so that and a lot of photos was all that year. I like the veriaty of the sizes of the photos, it makes interesting pages with hardly any embellishments at all. And nice photos is the best embellishment on a page, especially when they show the people you love the most!

The newest pages. This year I was into making small, individual homes for the differant events, some with photos and some without. Where there is a photo I made it the actual base and put the journaling and the embellishments directy on it. I really like the result. Now I have to wait a whole year ´till the next time I can make one of these...

As you can see, and as I think those who know me knows, I´m not the person who stays with one design for the whole album. That would bore me to death... It´s not that I don´t see that it can look very nice with a whole album with a one design, but I just can´t do it.

Tomorrow I will be off quite early, at least for a saturday, to go to an event for the sisters at church, we will have breakfast together and talk about how we can take care of each other the best way. I will be picked up by a sweet sister so we can go there together and we will pick up at least one sister on the way too, I think.

Have a lovely Friday and a fine weekend!

Organizing

My children have been having a cold for over a week and there has been someone home from school since last tuesday so I haven´t had much pease to sit down and create so much. But I have organized some really old photos, so now all photos expect the very newest are all put behind a ceratain category in my filing boxes.

Have you read Stacy Julian´s book "Photo freedom"?

It inspired me to get my photos organized, even though my system is much simplier than hers. For me that works fine. I used to have one filing box, but then I didn´t have all my photos organized yet. So when I finally filed all but the newest, one box didn´t fit them all, so now I´ve bought another one. My boxes looks like this,

and inside they look like this.

I have a lot of different catagories. You choose what works for you and your life. Mine are the following:

Dad and Mom
Dad
Mom
Our family
Extended family
Dad and Children
Mom and Children
Siblings
S
L
J
A
V
E
I
E
Home
Church
What we do
We celebrate
Holidays
Vistits
We go away
Friends

These catagories take care of our lives, so that it´s easy to find whatever photo you want.
When I get new photos I scrap all the ones I right then have obvios stories for and the rest get filied. But later you suddenly come up with another idee and then you can just go to the files and get the photo you want for it.
I like having real photos at home. I do have a printer and sometimes I print my own photos, but printing too much gets much to expensive. So I always order dubble copies of my photos and since I have many children to scrap for too, most of them get scraped sooner or later. And since I´m not the sort of photograper that take hundreds of photos of each event, these boxes is enough for me.

Well, that was my story of today. Have a nice day!
